Used sea and storage containers

The sea or overseas container was developed in 1956 and revolutionized global trade. The prominent steel boxes are available in different designs and sizes. The condition of their structural components is essential so that sea containers can safely receive and protect freight. Weight and control forces work between roofs, sidewalls, floors, cross members, upper and lower rails, and corner posts, irrelevant whether the containers are situated at a fixed storage location, on the high seas, or a truck or freight train loading area.

When selecting our used containers, we pay particular attention to the perfect interaction of these components. We obtain our used sea and storage containers from various shipping and leasing companies around the world. All used containers are suitable for national transport, worldwide trade, and storage at a fixed location. Second-hand containers are our cheapest containers and offer inexpensive transport and storage security for many years.

CSC Plate
Containers that will be used for export can be fitted with a CSC plate (International Convention for Safe Containers), which is valid for 12 months.

Condition of our used Sea and Storage Containers
Our used containers have been in use for between 10 and 15 years. Accordingly, they can show signs of use and surface rust. Before leaving our depot, our used containers are checked and, if necessary, refurbished. All metal surfaces were either galvanized in the factory or provided with corrosion protection and a paint coating. All boxes are wind and waterproof and have easy-to-use doors as well as intact door seals and floors.

We will be happy to assist you whether a used or new container is best suited for your purposes. Various factors play a role in the selection, including the specific purpose, the desired period of use, and your requirements for the optical condition.

Special Containers

Special containers are available in various dimensions and shapes and can be customized. We will find the best solution for your transport and storage plans, depending on the type and quality of your cargo or the intended use.

Open Top Container
Open top containers are open at the top and are ideal for loading large cargo. The walls of our open top containers are made of corrugated steel. The cargo is protected from the elements utilizing a removable tarpaulin. The upper door bracket can be pivoted.

Hard Top Container
Hard top containers are similar to open top containers, but have a removable steel roof.

Flat Rack Container
Flat rack containers are suitable for transporting wide or oversized freight, such as machines or turbines. They only have two end walls and are open on the sides. Flat racks are ideal for freight that exceeds conventional container dimensions in height and/or width.

Pallet Wide Container
Pallet wide containers are ideal for transporting Euro pallets. They are designed to be wider and hold two Euro pallets next to each other. A 45 ’HC Pallet Wide Container can hold up to 33 Euro pallets.

Swap Body Container
Swap body containers are so-called interchangeable load carriers and are mainly used for transport by road and on the rail network. With these containers, four support legs can be folded down on the sides. The loading vehicle can then be lowered and driven out from under the parked container. The swap body containers can, for example, easily be taken over by a second loading vehicle without unloading the freight by a crane, or they can be used as a mobile platform when parked.

Refrigerated containers

Refrigerated integral containers (reefers for short) are suitable for cargoes that are temperature-sensitive and need to be cooled during transport. Reefers have revolutionised the global trade process: At any time of the year, the refrigerated boxes can be used to transport fresh goods to any location in the world without compromising quality. Reefer containers require an external power supply at the storage location. During transport, they can be powered by diesel generators. Reefers keep the cargo at a temperature between - 30 °C and + 30 °C and have their own water cooling system.

In addition to being used for transporting food, reefers are also used as test environments for plants, laboratory equipment and as sales boxes. Our used refrigerated containers are generally overhauled, repainted and, with the right treatment, can be used for a decade. During the period of use, service appointments should be observed so that, for example, refrigerant can be refilled or the refrigeration unit serviced.
